DESCRIPTION: The Town of Dover in Morris County, New Jersey selected the SCE project team to provide complete survey, preliminary and final design, bidding services, construction document preparation and construction administration services for the expansion of an existing soccer field into a larger synthetic turf football and soccer field. Improvements included improved site grading, storm water management, field amenities, pedestrian access and ADA accessibility, perimeter fencing, landscape improvements, and parking lot expansion at the adjacent municipal parking area utilized for the park.
The design phase for the Crescent Field project was completed on a fast track schedule consisting of two (2) weeks from the beginning of site field survey and concept sketches to the completion of construction plans and specification documents and advertisement to bidders. In order to accommodate the needs of the Town of Dover, the site work and drainage design was completed and publicly bid, and the Town purchased the synthetic turf surfacing under a Cooperative Purchasing Network to expedite the order and delivery of the synthetic turf. This allowed the turf to be installed in late summer and have the field playable in Fall of 2012 for the community soccer and football teams.
SCE worked with the Town to design a variety of custom field logos and end zone graphics to meet the project budget. The experience of the SCE project team enabled the project to be designed and receive all required regulatory and municipal approvals within the aggressive time schedule.
